Deborah is running a number of fun, creative workshops and courses for adults of all abilities. The exciting programme includes drawing, painting, mixed media and urban sketching. Enjoy getting creative, learning new skills, meeting some new people and having lots of fun along the way.

Classes are held at a various lovely venues in Shoreham-by-Sea including the The Marlipins Museum, Shoreham Art Gallery, Circular Space and various plein air locations.

Private lessons are available at my studio or your home using your chosen medium.

Arty parties are also available for individuals or small groups in the comfort of your own home or your chosen venue.

Join me in the beautiful community garden for nature based arts and crafts every Monday morning. A wonderful experience for children and caregivers alike. Perfect for pre-schoolers and home schoolers, running throughout term-time and some holiday dates.

Welcome to Sketch Social! Join us at The Bridge, Shoreham for a fun-filled event where you can unleash your creativity through sketching. We will be seated outside on the terrace, enjoying the lovely views across the River Adur and quirky houseboats.

This event is perfect for anyone looking to socialize and sketch in a relaxed atmosphere. Bring your favorite sketchbook and pencils, grab a drink, enjoy some sunshine and make new friends.

This is an untutored event for adults.

If the weather is against us, we will still go ahead, but we will be in the undercover area instead.

Urban Sketching

6 WEEK COURSE

Sat 2 Aug – Sat 6 Sep 2025, 10am-12pm

On location

Learn the art of urban sketching. Build confidence in drawing outdoors in public places. Focus on capturing the world around you, from streetscapes to cafes. Discover key techniques such as graphite and soluble pencil, pen and wash (using watercolour) and key compositional skills to help you create effective urban sketches. There will be a different location every week. Please bring a portable chair, a sketch book and watercolours. A materials list will be sent out prior to the start of the course. I will bring some spare materials to borrow for those who don’t have their own. You will develop observational skills and confidence during the course in a supportive, non judgemental environment.

Level: This is an ideal introduction to urban sketching for beginners, returners or intermediate.

Shoreham Art Gallery

Learn how to use the unique, beautiful, luminous medium of watercolour. You will learn and practice techniques and fundamentals in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. This is a small group workshop held at my studio upstairs at the Shoreham Art Gallery. Some drawing experience is beneficial.

Level: Beginners/Improvers
